Coming Changes

If you have seen my Instagram post, you know that I am going to be taking some of my colors down at the end of January.  This is to freshen up my shop and to make room for some new colors.  On February 16th, I will be releasing a whole new line of yummy yarn goodness!

So I want to let you know which colors will be going away at the end of January.

Caribbean Water

Vintage Christmas

Reef

Sunshine

Salted Caramel Latte

These will be going away on all bases, so if you were thinking of placing an order now is the time!  Plus, for reading my blog use this discount code SPRINGCLEANING to take $5 off your entire order of $30 or more in addition to the 15% off on all discontinued colors.

Happy Knitting!

Hello World

Hello and welcome!  This time last year, I was thinking about what it would take for me to start a yarn dyeing company, which is nuts to think about!

Last January, I had just finished college and decided to move in with my boyfriend rather than moving out of my home state to join my parents.  One night, he asked me about what I wanted to do when I was a child.  I had two dreams: one was to be a Disney animator (back when the movies were all hand drawn), the other was to own a local yarn store (LYS).  At the time, I was working at the same LYS that I had been at since I was 16 and the idea of opening my own business of any kind seemed absolutely insane!  But the more I thought about it, the more reasonable it seemed.

Everyday, I was asking myself why I had been a theatre major in college and what I would do with it (I am still planning to go back to grad school and want to work as a scenic designer when I grow up).  The absolute best thing that I learned while in school is how to just jump into a project, even when I have no idea what I am doing.  That is exactly how I learned to knit and dye.  I learn best by just jumping in with my hands and going for it.  Failure is not an option because as long as I learn something, it is not a failure.

Which brings me to this blog.  I want this blog to be a place where I can share my stories about yarn, knitting, and dyeing.  I want this blog to be a place of total honesty through the mistakes and learning but even more, I want this blog to be a place of kindness.  So let’s end this on a sappy TV quote (because anyone who knows me knows that I speak in movie and TV quotes.  I don’t get out much…)

Chief Trumple: Leslie Knope gets as many favors as she needs.

Ben: Can I ask why?

Chief Trumple: Because she’s the kind of a person who uses favors to help other people.

The kindness that Leslie Knope gives throughout all of Parks and Recreation to everyone is something I admire and want to spread through my knitting.

Happy Knitting!
