When I was younger, Art Quilter Rosalie Dace would come teach in Sisters, Oregon where I grew up. My mother used to invite her over for dinner and she would tell us about South Africa where she lives as well as stories from her travels around the world. Once, she told me that neon orange, or hunter orange, is a neutral. I simply refused to believe her until she took a skein of bright, hot, neon orange mohair yarn and held it next to what seemed like 1,000 colors. Every time, I was amazed that the orange went with whatever other color. So this is my neutral orange, however outrageous that may seem. Thank you for this lesson Rosalie.
If you love bulky yarns, this is perfect for you! It is 50% Superwash Merino and 50% Nylon so this yarn won’t shrink if you wash it, its super soft, strong, and warm. Plus, the 110 yards is enough for a hat.
Who doesn’t love superwash? This knit can be washed in the machine and put in the dryer on low. However, after the time I put in, I still prefer to hand wash using a wool soak and drying flat.
Please keep in mind that all hand dyes are a little different and that is what makes them beautiful. Additionally, monitor colors can vary.
