The day I started dyeing Sky the skies were overcast and dark, heavy with rain. As I finished the first round, dreaming of the beautiful turquoise sky that I loved so much at my host mother’s apartment, I looked out and saw the sky had lightened. This continued all day until it was a beautiful spring day, warm enough to open all the windows to let the bird’s songs float through at the end of January. So I think the blue skies follow this colorway!
This hand-dyed sock yarn is a deliciously soft and squishy blend of 70% Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon, and 5% Stellina. It is difficult to tell in the photo, but there is a subtle sparkle that is extra magical.
This yarn is superwash and can be put through the machine. I still recommend only washing on gentle cycle and cool water to make your knits last as long as possible. Oh, and dry flat of course!
Please keep in mind that all hand dyes are a little different and that is what makes them beautiful. Additionally, monitor colors can vary.
